New Amsterdam

 

New Amsterdam was a fast-growing town located at the tip of Manhattan Island in the New Netherland territory of the early 17th Century.  The town was founded in 1625 by the Dutch Republic but the Dutch did not keep the town for long.  The New Amsterdam short-docs strive to answer the frequently asked question, why did New Amsterdam become New York?
